Every film type, explained
Window Film Solutions for Homes & Buildings
Different problems call for different films. Here's a straight-talk guide to what each type does and what it's best for — so you can walk into your consultation already knowing the options.
01 · Insulation
Low-E Window Film
A low-emissivity film that improves the insulating performance of existing glass — reducing heat transfer in both directions.
Best for: year-round comfort and energy savings in homes and buildings with older or single-pane glass.
- Keeps summer heat out and winter warmth in
- Eases HVAC load across the seasons
- Improves comfort near large or aging windows

02 · Privacy
Dual-Reflective & Privacy Film
Films that limit the view in while preserving your view out and your natural light. Frosted films add all-day, opaque privacy.
Best for: ground-floor rooms, street-facing windows, bathrooms and conference rooms.
- Daytime privacy with dual-reflective film
- Round-the-clock privacy with frosted / decorative film
- Clean, consistent exterior appearance
Note: standard reflective privacy film works by daylight; at night with interior lights on the effect reverses. We'll recommend frosted or dual-reflective film if you need nighttime privacy.
03 · Heat & glare
Solar & Spectrally Selective Film
Solar control film rejects a large share of the sun's heat and glare while letting daylight through. Spectrally selective films block more infrared heat while staying highly transparent — heat rejection without a dark look.
Best for: sun-drenched and west-facing rooms, sunrooms and glass facades.
- Rejects solar heat gain to lower cooling costs
- Cuts glare on screens and work surfaces
- Spectrally selective options keep glass clear and bright
- Blocks up to 99% of UV rays

04 · Natural look
Neutral Film
A low-reflectivity film that delivers heat and UV benefits while keeping the glass looking close to its natural, untinted appearance — no strong color, no mirror effect.
Best for: anyone who wants performance without changing the look, and locations with appearance or HOA guidelines.
- Subtle, natural appearance inside and out
- Solar and UV protection without heavy tint
- Great where a reflective look isn't wanted
05 · Premium performance
Ceramic Window Film
A premium, non-metal film built around ceramic particles. Excellent heat rejection and clarity with a neutral finish — and no interference with cellular, Wi-Fi or other signals.
Best for: top-tier heat rejection and optical clarity where signal performance and looks both matter.
- Excellent infrared heat rejection
- High clarity with low reflectivity
- No signal interference — metal-free
- Blocks up to 99% of UV rays

06 · Protection
Security & Safety Film
A thick, tear-resistant film — often paired with a structural sealant — that helps hold glass together when it breaks, slowing forced entry and containing shards.
Best for: ground-floor and storefront glass, doors, schools and healthcare.
- Helps hold shattered glass in place on impact
- Slows smash-and-grab and forced-entry attempts
- Adds protection against storms and accidental breakage
Note: no film makes glass unbreakable. Security film makes glass harder and slower to breach and reduces injury from flying glass.
07 · Surface protection
Anti-Graffiti Film
A clear, sacrificial layer applied over glass, mirrors and metal. If it's scratched, etched or tagged, you remove and replace the film — not the expensive surface underneath.
Best for: storefronts, glass doors, elevators, restrooms and transit.
- Protects glass from etching, scratching and paint
- Fast, low-cost recovery — swap the film, keep the glass
- Nearly invisible once installed
